🔀 How to Reorder Tasks or Task Groups in a Job

Keep your workflow organized in the order that works best for your team.

In Client Hub, tasks within a job can be grouped and rearranged to reflect your ideal process flow. Whether you want to move a single task or an entire task group, Client Hub gives you the tools to do it quickly.

🧱 Reordering Task Groups

  • Click the link icon next to the group name to open the Group Options dialog
  • Select the Move Group tab
  • Choose where to place the group — Move to first position, or Place after a specific group
  • Click Move Group

⚠️ Important: Moving a group will remove any dependencies that have been set on that group. After moving, review and reset dependencies as needed.

  • Hover over the task within the group
  • Look for the grabber icon on the left side of the task line
  • Click and drag the task to rearrange within the same group — or move it into a different group

🔗 How Reordering Affects Group Dependencies

If your job uses Group Dependencies, the order of your task groups matters. Dependencies are based on sequence — a blocked group waits for the group directly before it to be completed.

When you reorder groups, keep the following in mind:

  • Moving a group removes its existing dependencies — you will need to reset them after the move
  • Moving a group changes which group it depends on and which group depends on it
  • If you need to adjust dependency settings after reordering, click the link icon next to the group name to open Group Options and update the Dependencies tab

See 📋 Using Group Dependencies to Control Job Visibility and Workflow Order for full details on setting and managing dependencies.

🧠 Tips

  • Reorder groups to match your team's natural handoff sequence before enabling blocked dependencies
  • If a team member stops seeing a job on their Jobs Dashboard after a reorder, check whether their group's dependency status changed as a result
