🏷️ Organizing Your Jobs by Tags

Use tags to filter, focus, and streamline your team’s workload in the Jobs Dashboard.

Tags in Client Hub give you the flexibility to organize and view jobs based on the criteria that matter most to your firm. Whether you're sorting by service type, urgency, or workflow stage, tags help you create focused, actionable dashboards.

âś… Why Use Job Tags?

Tags allow you to:

  • Create custom views in the Jobs Dashboard
  • Filter out unrelated jobs and focus on high-priority work
  • Quickly view jobs related to sales tax, payroll, cleanup, or any service type
  • Support role-based or team-specific filtering (e.g., tags like "1040", "Payroll", "Monthly Review")

🛠️ Setting Up Your Tag Library (Admin Only)

  1. Go to Setup & Settings from the left-hand navigation.
  2. In the Advanced section, click Tag Library.
  3. Add new tags for your firm (e.g., "Sales Tax", "Quarterly Close", "Cleanup", etc.).

đź’ˇ Tip: Use consistent naming conventions to keep your tag list clean and easy to use.

🏷️ Adding Tags to Jobs

  1. Open a job from the Internal Workspace or Jobs Dashboard.
  2. In the Tags section of the job panel, click the “+” button.
  3. Select one or more tags from your tag library to apply to the job.

🔍 Filtering the Jobs Dashboard by Tags

  1. Go to the Jobs Dashboard.
  2. Click the Job Tag filter near the top of the screen.
  3. Select one or more tags to create a custom view of jobs that match your selection.

âś… You can combine Job Tag filters with Client Tag and User filters for more targeted views.

đź’ˇ Use Case Examples:

  • By Service Type: Tag jobs as “Payroll”, “Sales Tax”, “1099s”, or “Monthly Bookkeeping”
  • By Priority: Use tags like “Urgent” or “High Value”
  • By Team/Department: Tags like “Tax Team” or “Client Success”

Using tags transforms the Jobs Dashboard into a personalized, focused workspace for each team member—so nothing slips through the cracks.
