How to Do a Hard Refresh to Clear Your Browser's Page Cache

Sometimes your browser stores old versions of a webpage, which can cause things to look broken or outdated. A hard refresh forces your browser to reload the page from the server, clearing any cached files. This can help fix display issues or ensure you're seeing the most up-to-date version of a site.

đź–Ą Desktop Browsers

Google Chrome, Firefox, or Edge

  • Windows/Linux:

Press Ctrl + F5 or hold Ctrl and click the Reload button.

  • Mac:

    Press Command + Shift + R

Safari (Mac)

  • Press Command + Option + R

(Note: This works only if "Develop" mode is enabled. To enable it, go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and check “Show Develop menu in menu bar.”)

📱 Mobile Devices

Mobile browsers (iOS and Android) don’t support hard refreshes in the same way. Here are a few alternatives:

  • Close and reopen the tab
  • Clear the browser cache manually through the browser settings
  • Restart the browser app
