⬆️ File Upload Guidelines: Size Limit and Supported File Types
Last Updated: July 2026
When uploading files to Client Hub, it's important to know the limits and supported file types to ensure a smooth experience for both your team and your clients.
📁 Maximum File Size
- 150 MB per file
Each file you upload must be 150 megabytes or smaller. If you need to share something larger, we recommend compressing the file or using a cloud storage link (e.g., Google Drive or Dropbox).
📦 No Storage Limits
While there's a limit on the size of individual files, there's no limit to the total amount of storage available to your firm. You can upload as many files as you need to support your workflows and serve your clients.
✅ Supported File Types
Client Hub supports a wide range of commonly used file types, including:
- Standard document formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and similar)
- Common image formats
- Compressed archive files
- Standard audio and video formats
- QuickBooks data and backup files
If you try to upload a file type that isn't supported or one that exceeds the 150 MB limit, you'll see an error message. In that case, try converting the file to a more common format or reducing the file size. If you're not sure whether a specific file type is supported, reach out to support and we'll confirm.
📝 Note: Not every supported file type can be previewed directly in Client Hub. Some files may show a Download option instead of an in-app preview. See 📁 Managing Files in the Client Hub File Manager for details on the preview experience.
