Using a different file storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive etc.) with Client Hub
Recommendation
Migrate your files to Client Hub
Client Hub has a robust file management system that is recommended. When you use the other features of Client Hub, you can integrate things like automatically placing your files that are received in Client Tasks into a folder.
By keeping your files and sharing them with clients in Client Hub, they are able to use a single login and experience for all their interactions with your firm. You can easily drag/drop folders into Client Hub to move them from your local drive to Client Hub.
Sharing files with clients in a system outside Client Hub
While we recommend that you use file management in Client Hub, you can still share a link to files in other systems through Client Hub.
To share files with clients that reside in a different system (e.g. Google Drive, OneDrive), you will:
- Add a link to the folder for this client's files to the Resources section of the Client Workspace
- Then, your team and the client will use this link to access the files (they will have to log in to the other system — Google Drive etc.)
To add this link to Resources,
- Click the Manage link next to Resources
- In the Available Resources section, go to the This Client Only tab
- Add the folder where you share files with the client (Google Drive etc.) as a link here
Keeping internal files for a client in a system outside Client Hub
While we recommend that you use file management in Client Hub, you can keep internal-only links in Client Hub to a folder in another system like Google Drive etc. One way to do this would be to add this in the Notes tab - Client Details area in the Internal Workspace.
