🌟 Organize Clients with Client Workspace Groups
You can create Client Workspace Groups to organize related clients under a single group name. This is especially helpful when one business owner manages multiple entities — for example, a client with several companies or locations.
🧩 What Are Client Workspace Groups?
Client Workspace Groups link multiple Client Workspaces together so you can quickly view and manage all related work in one place. Each group can include any number of Client Workspaces, and you can name the group to match your client’s needs.
For example, you might create a group called Brenda’s Businesses to include:
- Fancy Paws Pet Supplies Co.
- Fancy Paws Pet Boarding
Grouped workspaces appear together in your Client List for easier navigation and organization.
🪄 Create a Client Workspace Group
- Go to Client Hub.
- Click the Create Group button (folder icon) at the bottom of your Client List.
- In the Group Name field, enter the name you’d like to use (for example, John’s Businesses).
- In the Add Client field, type to search or use the dropdown to select the Client Workspaces you want to include.
- Click Save.
💡 Tip: You can add or remove Client Workspaces from a group at any time.
👀 View Client Workspace Groups
After saving, the group appears in your Client List as a group header with its included Client Workspaces listed beneath it.
Groups are displayed inline in the list; there is no expand/collapse control.
Each Client Workspace still maintains its own Client Portal and Client Tasks — grouping only affects your firm’s view, not what your clients see.
🧭 Manage Existing Groups
To make changes to an existing group:
-
Go to Client Hub.
Hover over the group name and click the edit icon ✏️.
The Edit Group window opens. From here you can:
- Update the Group Name.
- Add more clients by typing or selecting from the dropdown in the Add Client field.
- Remove clients from the group by clicking the trash can icon next to their name.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
To delete a group entirely, click Delete Group at the bottom of the Edit Group window.
Deleting a group does not delete any Client Workspaces — they remain active and available individually in your list.
✅ Best Practices
- Group clients that share an owner, accountant, or business relationship.
- Use clear, descriptive group names (e.g., Smith Family Holdings or Green Lawn Companies).
- Keep groups focused for easier navigation.
🎯 Why Use Client Workspace Groups
Client Workspace Groups help firms:
- Simplify navigation for multi-entity clients.
- Quickly access all related workspaces for a single client owner.
- Keep the Client List cleaner and more organized.
