📧 Connecting Non-Gmail or Non-Microsoft Email Accounts to Client Hub

Overview

Client Hub supports direct email connections for Gmail (Google Workspace) and Microsoft (Outlook / Microsoft 365) accounts.

If you use another email provider (such as a custom domain email hosted by DreamHost, GoDaddy, Rackspace, or similar), that email address cannot be connected directly using Client Hub’s built-in email integration.

Why This Happens

Client Hub’s email integration relies on secure authentication methods provided by Google and Microsoft. Other email providers typically use standard IMAP/SMTP credentials, which are not supported in the direct connection flow at this time.

âś… Available Workarounds

Many firms using non-Gmail or non-Microsoft email providers successfully connect their email to Client Hub by using one of the following approaches.

Option 1: Connect Through Gmail or Outlook

You can configure Gmail or Outlook to:

  • receive email from your custom domain email address, and
  • send email as that same address.

Once configured, you can connect the Gmail or Microsoft inbox to Client Hub, allowing messages to sync while continuing to use your existing email address.

Example: you@yourfirm.com  is hosted with a third-party provider, but Gmail or Outlook is set up to send and receive mail for that address.

Option 2: Email Forwarding

Alternatively, you may forward incoming messages from your custom domain email to a Gmail or Microsoft inbox that is connected to Client Hub.

If you want replies to be sent from your custom domain address, additional “send as” configuration may be required in Gmail or Outlook.

❌ What’s Not Supported

  • Direct connection using IMAP/SMTP credentials
  • Direct authentication with non-Gmail or non-Microsoft email providers
  • Partial inbox syncing from unsupported providers

Important Notes

While routing a non-Gmail or non-Microsoft email through Gmail or Outlook works well for many firms, Client Hub does not manage or configure third-party email providers.

Email provider settings, security requirements, and available features may vary and can change over time. For provider-specific setup steps or troubleshooting, we recommend referring to your email provider’s documentation or support team.
