π Using Client Tasks to Collaborate with Your Clients
π How Client Tasks Work
Client Tasks create a clear, trackable communication loop between you and your clients. Hereβs how the process works:
You create a task β Send a request for information or a reminder.
(Status: OPEN)
Your client responds β They upload a file, answer a question, or acknowledge the task.
(Status: ANSWERED)
You review and close β Once reviewed, you can close the task or ask for clarification.
(Status: CLOSED)
π¬ Tip: You and your clients can add comments to any task to provide updates, ask follow-up questions, or clarify details.
𧩠Types of Client Tasks
To help you collect the right kind of response, Client Hub offers several task types:
To Do
Remind clients to complete a task. You can include links to Google Drive, Dropbox, or ShareFile to make collaboration easy.
Yes / No
Ask a quick question that just needs a clear βyesβ or βnoβ answer.
File Request
Perfect for requesting documents like bank statements, receipts, or contracts.
Accept / Decline
Confirm verbal or email discussions with a written acceptance. You can also use this to verify receipt of important information.
Open Text
Use this for questions that require a more detailed, written response.
π Creating Client Task Templates
If you send the same types of requests frequently, save time by creating a Client Task Template.
Templates can include one or multiple tasks and are ideal for:
- Weekly/monthly document requests (e.g., bank statements)
- Onboarding new clients
- Recurring task reminders
β Recurring Client Tasks and Auto-pilot
Client Tasks that are part of recurring work (like bookkeeping or payroll) can be included as part of that recurring job and these effectively become recurring client tasks. You can push the client task to the client automatically using the Auto-pilot feature that goes with client tasks in jobs. You can read more about Auto-pilot client tasks here.
