π Understanding Notifications in Client Hub (Client Users)
Client users can stay updated and never miss a message or task.
Client Hub sends notifications to help you stay on top of messages, requests, and reminders from your accountant or bookkeeper. Hereβs how notifications work:
π₯ A. Conversation Activity
When your accounting firm sends a message or uploads a file, it will appear in your conversation.
You may see:
- β Blue Unread Indicator next to the workspace name
π This indicator shows unread messages and is separate from notifications.
You may also receive:
- β Mobile Notification (if notifications are enabled for the Client Hub app on your device)
- β Email Notification (if the message has not yet been viewed in Client Hub)
π± Mobile notifications are managed through your deviceβs notification settings, not within Client Hub.
π‘ Messages appear in real time within Client Hub, so you can respond without switching to email.
π B. Client Task Activity
When your accountant assigns a new Client Task or sends a reminder, youβll receive a notification.
You may receive notifications through:
- β Notification Bell at the top of your Client Hub dashboard
- β Mobile Notification
- β Email Notification (if you havenβt already viewed the task)
π₯ Reminders help keep things moving so your accountant can complete work on time.
π How Notifications Work
- Notifications are triggered by new or updated activity that has not yet been viewed
- Once you open and view the message or task, additional notifications for that activity may not be sent
- Email notifications may be grouped into periodic summaries rather than sent individually
ποΈ Notifications vs Read Receipts
Notifications and read receipts serve different purposes:
- Notifications alert you when something new requires your attention
- Read receipts (Seen by / Viewed by) show who has opened or viewed a message
Opening a message may stop further notifications from being sent, but read receipts are displayed separately within the conversation.
β Helpful Tips for Managing Notifications
- Make sure notifications are enabled on your mobile device for the Client Hub app
- Use the blue unread indicator and Notification Bell to quickly identify items that need attention
- Check your email inbox for summaries if youβre not logged into Client Hub
π When you open the Notification Bell, messages are not automatically marked as read. Use the checkbox at the top of the list to Mark All as Read.
